West Chester University graduate and undergraduate students who received their degrees this May also were notified of free job-seeking resources offered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the University’s Twardowski Career Development Center.
One of these programs is "JobGateway," a free, web-based application matching employers’ needs with job seekers' skills, and offering tools that can be used at every stage of a job search. One of these tools, "Big Interview," engages job seekers in a mock video interview, allowing them to play back their entire session and even send the video to their mentors, professors, and friends for advice on enhancing their interview skills.
Employers can post their job openings for free on the "JobGateway" site, whose program will sort and filter potential applicants based on the profile elements included in the job listings; then automatically refer the candidates who best match the posting criteria. Job seekers also can create and/or post their resumes on the site for free, and automatically receive the job postings that best match their preferences. Once registered, an individual’s information is used to find those matches, typically from among more than 170,000 job openings.
Another job-seeking resource for WCU alumni is the University’s "Ram Career Network," a global career management/search platform that allows job seekers to upload their resume, cover letter and career documents to apply for hundreds of jobs posted to WCU directly and via a state-wide shared job board for all 14 State System universities. For more information visit the Twardowski Career Development Center Job Search Resources webpage
