Undergraduate Commencement

Sunday, December 14, 2014
Hollinger Fieldhouse

West Chester University will have two undergraduate ceremonies on Sunday, December 14th. There will be a Morning Ceremony at 10am and an Afternoon Ceremony at 1:30pm, to distribute the colleges. See purple tabs below for December 2014 ceremony information.

The graduates start to process 25 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Please be in your seat before the procession begins.

TICKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR GUEST ADMISSION TO ALL CEREMONIES!

Undergraduates will receive four (4) guest passes to their specific commencement ceremony: Morning or Afternoon.

Tickets are ceremony-specific and color-coded, and will not be honored at other ceremonies.

WHEN: Monday, December 1st through Friday, December 12th at 2 p.m
WHERE: SSI Service Center, lower level Sykes Student Union
BRING ID: Ram eCard identification is required to pick-up tickets.

DON'T LOSE: Lost tickets will not be replaced. DON'T COPY: Reproduced tickets will not be honored.

Undergraduate students only: Report to Ehinger Gymnasium at 8:30 am.

Note to graduating students: You will NOT be able to leave items behind in Ehinger during the ceremony.

Tickets

Guests who have Morning Ceremony tickets will be permitted to enter the Hollinger Fieldhouse. No guests will be permitted into the auditorium without a Morning Ceremony ticket.

Sun, Dec 14, 2014 Afternoon Ceremony: 1:30 pm

Undergraduate students only: Report to Ehinger Gymnasium at 12:00 pm.

Guests who have Afternoon Ceremony tickets will be permitted to enter the Hollinger Fieldhouse. No guests will be permitted into the auditorium without an Afternoon Ceremony ticket.

Caps/Gowns, Announcements, and Important Information

Ordering Your Cap & Gown:
  • You may submit your cap/gown order beginning Monday, October 6, 2014 at Oak Hall Cap and Gown: www.oakhalli.com/wcupa.
  • The deadline to submit your cap/gown order on www.oakhalli.com/wcupa is Friday, November 14, 2014.
  • The deadline to submit your cap and gown order to ship to the WCU Bookstore is Wednesday, November 5th, 2014. There is no additional charge for this service.
  • The deadline to submit your cap and gown order to ship to your home is Friday, November 14, 2014. There is an additional fee for this service, which must be paid by credit card when you order.
Picking Up Your Cap & Gown:
  • Caps/Gowns ordered through www.oakhalli.com/wcupa may be picked up at the SSI Bookstore, lower level Sykes Student Union, beginning Monday, Dec 1, 2014, Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, Dec 12, 2:00 P.M is the last day to pick up your cap/gown.
  • If you missed the opportunity to order your Cap/Gown via www.oakhalli.com/wcupa, then you must pick up a Cap/Gown at the SSI Bookstore during the dates/times listed above.
Announcements:
  • Announcements will be available to all graduation applicants. Each graduate is entitled to ten (10) standard announcements and you can pick them up with your cap and gown at the Bookstore.

Parking and Directions

Students and their guests are strongly encouraged to park in the following places:

Street parking is also available. Parking meters (on street and off street) are enforced Monday through Friday 8am to 10pm and allow customers to park up to three hours.

Handicap parking

Handicap parking will be very limited and will be on a first-come basis. Handicap spectators will be allowed to be dropped off at the main entrance to Hollinger Fieldhouse. One (1) family member will be allowed to accompany one handicap or mobility-impaired person to the special seating area located in Hollinger Fieldhouse. No exceptions will be made.

Schedule of Events

Friday, December 12, 2014

11:00 am: Commencement rehearsal for Undergraduates in the Hollinger Field House.

Immediately following commencement rehearsal, students can go to the Ehinger Gymnasium for a FREE brunch, sponsored by the WCU Alumni Association (WCUAA) to congratulate graduates and welcome them to the WCUAA.

The brunch will include an assortment of food, prizes, an opportunity to network with alumni, information on how to get discounted health, auto, and renters insurance, a special appearance by Rammy, and much more.

Faculty rehearsal participation is optional.

Graduate Commencement
Hollinger Fieldhouse
7:00 pm

Guests should be seated 25 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Tickets are required. Seats have been set aside for people with disabilities in need of special seating. Those requiring special seating should check in with an usher when they arrive.

Changes to Spring Undergraduate Commencement: May 2015

Over the past several months, feedback suggested that a review be made of our current commencement ceremony model, due to the growing size of the graduating class, the length of time for ceremonies under the current model, and weather-related challenges.

Effective Spring 2015, a six (6) undergraduate commencement ceremony model will be implemented using on-campus facilities. Tickets will be required for each ceremony. More information about how many tickets will be available to each student and when tickets will be available will be released in January 2015. See below for dates and locations.

Saturday, May 9, 2015: Undergraduate Commencement

  • 9:00am: College of Business & Public Affairs, Hollinger Fieldhouse
  • 12:00pm: College of Education, Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall
  • 4:00pm: College of Health Sciences, Hollinger Fieldhouse

Sunday, May 10, 2015: Undergraduate Commencement

  • 9:00am: College of Arts & Sciences (Humanities and Liberal Arts), Hollinger Fieldhouse
  • 12:00pm: College of Visual & Performing Arts, Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall
  • 4:00pm: College of Arts & Sciences (Science and Mathematics), Hollinger Fieldhouse

The Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., in Hollinger Fieldhouse.
