Important Changes to May 2015 Undergraduate Commencement

We heard you! Based on overwhelming feedback from Class of 2015 graduating students, President Weisenstein has approved two, undergraduate commencement ceremonies for this spring. The undergraduate ceremonies will be held outdoors, rain or shine, at Farrell Stadium. No tickets are required for the outdoor ceremonies.

If severe weather is expected on either day, the outdoor ceremony at Farrell Stadium will be canceled with as much notice as possible, preferably at least 24 hours in advance. Graduating students will be invited to Hollinger Field House for an abridged program where they will hear the commencement speaker, student speaker and Alumni Association President and receive their diploma covers. Due to limited seating in Hollinger Field House, only graduating students will be admitted.

Dedicated to the transformation of the learning experience through strategic digital innovation and a superb customer experience, Dr. Melander works closely with every functional area of the company to consider the implications of technology on people, process, and product. Parking and Shuttle Buses

Guests and graduating students are strongly encouraged to park in the M Lot parking areas and take the shuttle bus down to the stadium. View the Campus Map.

Shuttle buses will run continuously to and from Farrell Stadium from 7:30 am - 1:30 pm.

Handicap parking

Handicap parking will be very limited and will be on a first-come basis. Handicap spectators will be allowed to be dropped off at the main entrance to Farrell Stadium. One (1) family member will be allowed to accompany one handicap or mobility-impaired person to the special seating area located on the track of Farrell Stadium. No exceptions will be made.

Metered Parking

If you choose to park along the street and use a meter, please keep in mind that the meters are patrolled by West Chester Borough and are enforced beginning at 5:00 pm Saturday afternoon.

Security and Bag Checks

Our Spring Commencement Ceremony at Farrell Stadium has four points of entry. We do bag checks at each of those locations. Please Note: Water in plastic bottles is allowed. No coolers will be permitted. Respectfully, people should enter the appropriate locations:

  1. Top of O-lot is for the graduating students only.
  2. North Gate is for the platform party, commencement speaker, and guest of the President.
  3. Middle Gate is for participants, parents, guests, and friends.
  4. South Gate is also for participants, parents, guests, and friends.

Cap & Gown Ordering

  • The deadline to submit your cap and gown order to ship to your home for an additional fee is Friday, April 24th.

Cap & Gown Pickup for Undergraduate Students: Apr 27 - May 8

Caps and gowns will be available at the SSI Bookstore during the following dates and times:

  • Monday, April 27th to Thursday, April 30th from 8:15AM to 6PM,
  • Friday May 1st from 8:15AM to 4PM,
  • Saturday May 2nd from 11AM to 3 PM.
  • Monday May 4th to Thursday May 7th from 8:15AM to 6 PM and
  • Friday May 8th from 8:15AM to 2PM.
