*The graduates will start to process at 9:30am before the start of the ceremony. Please be in your seat before the procession begins.
Seats have been set aside for people with disabilities in need of special seating. Those requiring special seating should check in with an usher when they arrive. We request that only one (1) additional guest sit in the seating area reserved for people with disabilities so that there will be sufficient room for those needing the special seating.
During the ceremony, diploma covers only will be distributed. The Registrar will mail diplomas to all graduates who have completed the requirements for their degrees. They will be mailed from the Registrar's Office following posting of final semester grades and verification of graduation requirements. Please allow 60 days.
If there are any outstanding issues that will prevent you from graduating, the Registrar's Office will notify you by mail. Visit the Registrar's page on Diplomas.
In accordance with University policy, alcoholic beverages are forbidden on University property. In addition, if any student is deemed to have consumed alcohol, or an illegal, controlled substance prior to the ceremony, that student will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
Please exercise discretion when using cell phones and smartphone devices during the ceremony. We ask that you please turn off the volume of your devices when the academic procession starts.
If taking pictures or using social media, please be mindful of those around you. Student cell phone/smartphone use on the platform when receiving diplomas is restricted. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
During the ceremony, guests may only take photographs from their seats. In order to provide the best opportunity for a quality photograph to document the occasion, a professional photographer will be on stage during the commencement ceremony to take a picture of each graduate with the appropriate dignitary as he/she receives the diploma cover.
Not only will graduating students have the best possible photograph of their accomplishment, their guests will be able to remain seated without the worry of getting close to the stage to "capture the moment."
