Requirements: Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or related field by August 2010. At least 18 months of teaching experience at the university level is required. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in both teaching and research; and background to teach a variety of undergraduate mathematics courses including statistics. Preference will be given to candidates who have the potential to (1) strengthen the departments programs in applied mathematics; (2) develop capstone experiences in applied mathematics; (3) obtain external funding. Finalists must successfully complete interview process including a teaching demonstration and a talk to the departments faculty and upper-level students. Candidates Should Submit: A cover letter addressing the above requirements, a curriculum vita, all graduate transcripts, a brief statement of teaching philosophy, a brief research prospectus and three recent letters of recommendations with at least one letter addressing, in detail the candidates teaching effectiveness.
