West Chester University of Pennsylvania seeks qualified candidates for Resident Director. The Resident Director will oversee a building of 300-450 residents and will be responsible for supervising one graduate assistant and a resident assistant staff of six to fourteen. Primary duties of the position include, but are not limited to programming, staff development, leadership education and monitoring student behavior through the University Judicial System. In addition, the Resident Director plays a role in the development of departmental policy and procedure, which require participation on committees and project teams. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and previous residence life and housing services experience is required. Preference given to candidates holding a Master's degree in student personnel, counseling or related field. The ideal candidate should also possess skills in staff supervision, group advisement, judicial hearing officer experience and administrative procedures related to housing, plus demonstrate knowledge in application of student development theory. In addition, the candidate should have experience in promoting appreciation for multiculturalism while working with a diverse student population. This is a full-time, professional level, live-in position and will begin June, 2013. Applicants must successfully complete interview process to be considered as a finalist.
