Advising Assessment

The University Academic Advising Committee (UAAC) worked in conjunction with the Provost and representatives of the Faculty Union to develop a set of appropriate questions pertaining to students’ advising experiences. The questionnaire consisted of 62 questions, two of which were open-ended. The Office of Institutional Research used the website SurveyMonkey.com to create and administer the survey. An email invitation was sent to 11,452 undergraduate, degree-seeking students enrolled for the Spring 2011 semester. As an incentive, respondents were entered into a random drawing for prizes including iPads, Wawa gift cards, and WCU t-shirts. The data collection period was March 15 — April 3, 2011. A total of 3,236 students responded, a response rate of 28.26%.
