Please note that due to scheduled construction the OSSD Proctoring Center has temporarily moved to another location (Room #258) on the 2nd floor of Lawrence. Students should report to Room #258 at the time they are scheduled to begin their test. Students who arrive early are welcome to wait in the OSSD Office or the hallway just outside of our office, where there are tables and chairs available for last minute studying! Faculty and/or staff who are dropping off/picking up exams can visit our office in Room #223 during office hours; after hours, exams may be placed in the metal box on the door of the "original" Proctoring Center.
The purpose of the OSSD Proctoring Center is to support faculty with providing testing accommodations for students with disabilities. It is preferable that faculty provide testing accommodations; however, this is not always possible due to scheduling conflicts and other issues.
As part of efforts to improve the usability of our web resources and proctoring center, the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (OSSD) would appreciate your input. To offer better service to both you the faculty and our students with disabilities please take a few minutes to give us some feedback.
Proctoring Center requests for the 2016/17 winter session should be submitted via email. Please include the following information in your email:
Exam start/end time (see hours on calendar above)
Allowable materials, if any
Exam delivery/return method (faculty or student delivery/return)
(*) Exams may be delivered by the faculty member or the student; however, the OSSD WILL NOT provide email reminders during the winter session.
Students must arrive for their scheduled exam on the date and time stated in the confirmation email and must provide their WCU Student ID card prior to taking an exam. The end time of the exam is fixed and will not be adjusted for tardiness. If a student is more than 20 minutes late, the exam will not be administered without written authorization from the instructor.
Exams must be administered on the day and time specified by the professor. Written authorization to take the exam at a later date and/or time from an instructor is the only way to reschedule an exam. OSSD cannot determine the rescheduling of exams.
Once a student begins an exam, he/she must complete the exam within the predetermined time frame without leaving the room.
West Chester University’s Code of Conduct is in effect at OSSD. OSSD staff reserves the right to monitor student activity at all times during test administration.
Food and drink must be examined by OSSD staff and is not allowed near electronic equipment.
All personal items must be checked in by OSSD staff prior to the start of the exam. Electronic devices must be turned off. Staff will monitor these items during the examination period. Complete security is not guaranteed.
Only students registered with the OSSD and who have signed the Test Proctoring Agreement may use the Proctoring Center.
A student will initiate the scheduling process by submitting a OSSD Exam Proctoring Center Requestat least one week in advance (less notice is permissable during the summer sessions). The student must specifically request any assistive services and/or technology needed to complete the exam. The student’s request will be forwarded to his/her professor.
