North/South Campus Shuttles: Fall and Spring Semesters

Weekdays

Service is provided from 7:15 a.m. – 2:15 a.m.

ROUTES:

The GOLD ROUTE shuttle runs from 7:15 a.m. – 2:15 a.m.

    • Bus Stops:  Church Street, Wayne Hall, Q-Lot, HSC (Sturzebecker), South Campus Residences (Village Clubhouse & South Campus Apartments), Commonwealth
    • Upon request the bus will stop at R-Lot when the R-Lot call light is on, the Newman Center and the Student Recreation Center. 
    • During the evening hours, the bus may make additional stops upon request at the South Campus Apartments, The Village, New Street & Trinity Drive and Sharpless & Church Street.
    • Services Times:
      • The Gold Route Loop takes 22 minutes
      • Peak Hours (8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.) service frequency is every 5-7 minutes
      • Off Peak Hours (8:00 p.m. – 2:15 a.m.) service frequency is every 14 minutes
        • In the event evening service is limited, follow Bus A times on Gold Route Weekday Timetable

The GREEN ROUTE shuttle runs Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 

    • Bus Stops: Church Street, Wayne Hall, HSC (Sturzebecker) Commonwealth Hall
    • Upon request the bus will stop at S-Lot
    • Service frequency is every 8-9 minutes

The BLUE ROUTE shuttle runs Monday-Thursday from 7:15 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 

    • Bus Stops: Q-Lot, Wayne Hall, Village Clubhouse, Swope, S-Lot (on request)
    • Service frequency is every 10-11 minutes. 

Weekends

  • Service is provided every 22 minutes from 10:00 a.m. – 2:15 a.m. using the GOLD ROUTE. The bus starts at Church Street and ends at South Campus Apartments.

North/South Campus Shuttle: Winter Service

  • Service is provided weekdays while classes are in session.
    •  7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m Service is provided every 22 minutes.
    • Bus stops: The Village Club House, South Campus Apts. and Wayne Hall

North/South Campus Shuttle: Summer Service

  • Service is provided during Sessions I and II ONLY, weekdays while classes are in session. 
    • 7:40 a.m. – 10:40 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Using the Summer Sessions shuttle route. Service is provided every 22 minutes.
    • No service will be provided for Summer Session III

Purple Route 

The PURPLE ROUTE  shuttle runs from 7:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

    • Bus Stops: Church Street, Swope, WCU Post Office (887 South Matlack St.), M-Lot
    • Upon Request Bus Stops: G-Lot, Sharpless Parking Garage, M2-Lot

 

This bus is wheelchair accessible, so it also provides service as WCU’s Accessible Bus. Frequency is every 15 minutes, but expect a delay if the bus needs to provide transportation outside of the route.

Exton Train Station Shuttle Service

 A university shuttle bus will transport students, faculty, and staff from Church Street to the Exton Train Station Monday through Friday while classes are in session. Two-way service is available and a reservation is not required.

At the Exton Train Station, the morning pick-ups will be located on the Westbound side in the handicap area of the parking lot. Look for a small, yellow school bus with a sign in the window “Exton Shuttle.” At the University, the bus will be waiting at the Church Street bus stop. PM drop-offs will be located on the Eastbound side of the Exton Train Station.

The driver is required to adhere to the schedule so that all trains can be met. Once the shuttle has left, passengers will have to wait for the next shuttle. Passengers should plan accordingly. In the event that alternate means of transportation is necessary, the University will not be responsible for the cost.

* Please be advised that a crosswalk is not available to cross the highway between the train station and the SEPTA Route 92 bus stop.*

Exton Train Station

Uptown Loop: East Campus and West Chester

The Uptown Loop bus runs Monday – Saturday while classes are in session during the Fall and Spring semesters. 

The University shuttle transports passengers from North Campus to several residential and commercial locations in the West Chester Borough including the Chester County Hospital and the Bradford Plaza Shopping Center (including Giant). 

    • Service is provided Monday – Friday  6:45 a.m. – 10:25 p.m. | Saturday 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. 
    • Monday - Friday the first departure is from the Church Street bus stop at 6:45 a.m. The bus makes a final loop from Church Street at 9:55 p.m. 
    • Saturday the first departure is from the Church Street bus stop at 12:00 p.m. The bus makes a final loop from Church Street at 9:20 p.m. 
    • Look for the mini bus with the “Uptown Loop" sign in the window. The Uptown Loop bus is ADA accessible.

Grad Center Shuttle (GBC)

A limited university shuttle will transport students, faculty, and staff from WCU to the Graduate Business Center (GBC) located on McDermott Drive,  Monday through Thursday while classes are in session (undergraduate classes only). Look for the shuttle with the "Grad Center" sign in the window.  The GBC Shuttle will depart from the Wayne Hall stop. 

The GBC shuttle will run at all departure and return times for the first three weeks of the semester. 

MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS

Accessible Transportation for Mobility-Impaired Students

West Chester University provides an Accessible Bus for transportation around campus for people with mobility impairments. Students may utilize this bus whether their mobility issues are permanent or temporary.

  • Bus is equipped with a wheelchair lift
  • Transportation is provided to and from most campus buildings and parking lots
  • Off campus locations cannot be accommodated
  • Service is available during the same hours as the fixed route shuttle buses

In order to qualify for this service, contact the Office of Educational Accessibility at 610-436-3217 in Lawrence 223 or the Student Health Center at 610-436-2509 in Wayne Hall. Either office can grant eligibility for the bus.

  • Once eligible, riders can login to the system using their current WCU username and password
  • Ride requests can either be Recurring (for regularly scheduled classes over a period of time) or One Time (for a specific purpose)
  • Requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance
  • The Transportation office will notify the requester with confirmation their ride on the Accessible Bus has been setup
  • All riders must read the Accessible Bus Policy

Service is provided on a modified schedule using the All Stops bus route.  

December Exams

Holidays & Breaks

  • Modified service is provided every 22 minutes on weekdays when the University is closed (Labor Day, Fall Break).
  • Service is not provided on weekdays during Spring Break (March 11-15).
  • Each Friday before Fall Break & Spring Break, service will end at an earlier time. Please check the WCU Shuttle App for notifications. Service will resume on Sunday following the break.
