March 16, 2017
This Sunday, March 19, get a taste of what WCU's Research Day 2017 will offer when senior economics and accounting major Amanda Flynn appears on Infinite Opportunities on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN). The half-hour public affairs program airs at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday on PCN.
Flynn will discuss her participation in a research project involving exercise, productivity, and behavior. The project uses behavioral economics – incentives – to influence students' exercise habits and investigates the efficacy of incentives to promote healthier lifestyles. She has been studying the topic with WCU's Simon Condliffe, associate professor of economics and finance, whose expertise is in healthcare economics and microeconomics. Condliffe is also featured on the show.
WCU's Research Day takes place Tuesday, March 28. Condliffe, Flynn, and other collaborators on this project are part of the opening session at 9 a.m.: "Diabetes, Nutrition, and Healthcare Management." The schedule and more information are located here.
Infinite Opportunities is produced by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. This week's program will be rebroadcast at 6 p.m., March 25. Watch prior episodes of Infinite Opportunities.
