Outraged? Join Dr. Dan Gottlieb for Stress Relief
Negative news — mass shootings, antagonistic politics, increases in sexual assault allegations against prominent figures — has many Americans feeling overwhelmed, angry, depressed, exhausted. Renowned family psychologist Dan Gottlieb understands the frustrations and brings his compassionate approach to these problems to the West Chester University campus on Wednesday, March 7, for a free discussion entitled "Outrage Fatigue with WHYY's Dr. Dan." His address is designed to help people channel frustration into productive actions for their own and society's wellbeing. Gottlieb's program is organized by WHYY and will be recorded.
Gottlieb, whose business card features his name and the word "Human" in lieu of a title or list of his degrees, says, "I teach kindness." A practicing psychologist and therapist with more than 40 years of experience, he hosted the "Voices in the Family" weekly radio program for more than 30 years on Philadelphia's NPR affiliate WHYY-FM. Now retired from that program, he produces and hosts six specials each year. Learn more about Gottlieb here.
This free program is general admission; online registration is encouraged. Gottlieb will speak from 6 until 7:30 p.m. in the Madeleine Wing Adler Theatre at the WCU Performing Arts Center, 817 South High Street.
West Chester University offers a five-year, full-time doctoral degree in clinical psychology where students can specialize in child and adolescent health or post-traumatic stress.
