Continuing Theatre and Dance Education

Topher Cusumano ’08 is pursuing his MFA in Creative Writing at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.

Jillian Glace '08 is studying for her MA in Creative Art Therapy with a concentration/specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.

Andrew Lowy ’09 is moving to London this fall to pursue his Masters at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Josh Moser ’09 is pursuing his MFA in Performing Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.

Michael Nguyen '10 is working on his MFA in Dance at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He is also teaching dance at various studios throughout the Philadelphia metro area and currently dancing with the Roger Lee Dance Company.

Mike Thatcher '09 is a graduate assistant at the University of Houston Professional Actor Training Program where he is pursuing his MFA.

Jim Vadala '12 is completing an acting apprenticeship with the Portland Playhouse in Portland, Oregon.

Joanna Volpe ’13 was recently awarded the Hedgerow Theatre Acting Fellowship. Fellows will be full members of the Hedgerow Company and gain a tremendous amount of experience and responsibility in the different aspects of theatre life.

Jessica Barth '01 was seen as Tami-Lynn in the movie "Ted", the first live-action film by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.

Leanna Betzala '13 is a Philadelphia Fight Vixen, dancing for the Philadelphia Fight Rugby League.

Kirk Bixby '06 has been cast as The Conductor in the national tour of Jim Henson's Dinosaur Train Love - Buddy's Big Adventure. Kirk writes: The Conductor is a full-size Troodon (rapter-like) dinosaur puppet that sings & dances, knows everything about the Mesozoic Era, and keeps everything going on the Dinosaur Train. And let me tell you, I've never been more excited for a job.  Based on the PBS kids TV show, all the Puppets are being designed and created by the actual Henson Creature shop. The show is being co-designed and directed by John Tartaglia, star of Avenue Q and Shrek on Broadway, and creator of ImaginOcean. The show is being built from scratch using all sorts of amazing puppetry techniques, special effects, and of course a real Dinosaur train.  More show info can be found at their official website.

Caitlin Brown ’11 is a professional dancer for the New Jersey Devils Dance Team (NHL), and a choreographer for a semi-professional theatre company in Asbury Park, NJ.

Julia Charles ’07 is a freelance scenic painter for local theater houses such as the Fulton Theatre, the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater, and the F&M Players at Franklin & Marshall College.

Bridget Cook '04 is the Company Manager of the Philadelphia Theatre Company.

Peter Collier '11 can be seen this summer in The Queen's Players production of MacBeth. This Equity production, directed by Alberto Bonilla, will be produced at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City, NY. More information can be found here.

Audra Dennis ’13 is a vocal instructor at The Rock & Roll After School in Phoenixville PA. Audra works with students ranging in age from 12-18 on vocal basics and performance techniques.

Tia Dorsey ’13 is an intern under Angie Koonin, PT, ATC and dance specialist who provides dance medicine services to dancers in Charlotte, NC as well as the North Carolina Dance Theatre.

Michael Durkin '08 is the artistic director of The Renegade Company in Philadelphia, PA.

Brendan Flaherty '10 is working in the NBC Studio Electric Shop in Manhattan as an I.A.T.S.E. Local One Apprentice Electrician.

Angela Frezzo '11 is touring Italy this summer, performing with the MM2 Dance Company from Philadelphia. Follow their travels here.

Laura Giknis '08 can be seen through July 21 as Sandy in The Walnut Street Theatre's production of Grease. Also in the ensemble cast is Doug Atkins '12.

Kristin Hector ’13 will return to dance with the Philadelphia Fight Rugby League. As a Philadelphia Fight Vixen, she performed for their 2012 season in addition to their current 2013 season.

Kate Iezzoni ’06 is the Director of Institutional Relations for The Metropolitan Opera. She oversees government, foundation, and corporate relationships for the largest cultural institution on the country.

Dan Kontz ‘ 11 is a free-lance designer in Video Production, Photography, Graphic Design, Theatrical Sound & Video Design in Philadelphia. Find his work here.

Judi Ludovico ’84 is the Chief Entertainment Officer for the Atlantic City Alliance. She is the Creator and Producer of citywide event and entertainment activation for the $30M DO AC campaign. She managed business development, strategic planning, routing and booking for the first ever Radio City Christmas Spectacular $25M touring arena production as well as four existing theater productions. The tour consistently broke box office records with sales reaching $45M annually, making it one of the top 35 tours in sales worldwide. Creator and Executive Producer of the first ever Rockette branded dance education programs, The Rockette Summer Intensive and The Rockette Experience. The first year round event in the history of the Rockettes to reach $1M in annual revenue, have its own cable television mini-series and develop new talent. She is also the producer of the first ever vocal coaching mobile app specially designed for dancers, Singing For Dancers with Liz Caplan. App on sale now for iPhone, iTouch, iPad, and Droid. Matt Pilsner '04 works as a stage carpenter at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, NJ.

Megan Pisors ’07 is playing Hope Caldwell in Urinetown the Musical at the Eagle Theatre in Hammonton, NJ. Also in the cast is WCU theatre alum, Beth Serowsky. All of her past and upcoming projects are on MeganPisors.com.

Lauren Quattrone ’11 is currently teaching at and managing First Position Dance Arts in Ardmore in addition to teaching at The Dance Center in West Chester. Lauren is a proud member of Indigenous Pitch Dance Collective (IPDC), a non-profit organization that travels to help children that have suffered from socio-economic and/or natural disasters and is currently dancing with the Roger Lee Dance Company in Philadelphia.

Don Rider '10 will be returning in August to Stage Left Studios in Manhattan to open a series of new 10-minute one-acts called "Test" and an unnamed original musical. He was most recently seen in the off-off-Broadway production of "Juliet & Romeo" with Your Name Here Queer Theatre Company.

Tammy Russell '01 is a coach, choreographer and instructor at the Russell's Dance and Baton Studio, with several locations in PA.

Mike Thatcher '09 spent his summer in Williamsburg, VA as part of the Virginia Shakespeare Festival. He has been cast in both Richard III and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Andy Truscott '09 is the Marketing and Development Manager at Delaware Theatre Company, Delaware's only LORT Equity House.  He is also the Director of Development at The Renegade Company, a devised theatre company in Philadelphia founded by fellow alumnus Michael Durkin '08.  Prior to DTC, Andy worked as in Development at Pig Iron Theatre Company and in Audience Services at Act II Playhouse.  Since graduation, Andy has graduated with an A.A. in Business Administration and an A.A.S. in Marketing.

Tiara Whaley '12 is a singer, host and parade dancer at Sesame Place for the 2013 Halloween Spooktacular and Very Furry Christmas.

Josh Yoder '13 was recently named a Teaching Artist for Phladelphia Theatre Company for their 2013-2014 season
