Kinesiology

The Department of Kinesiology is one of six undergraduate departments in the College of Health Sciences at West Chester University. The Department of Kinesiology is committed to educating all students in the development of a healthy, active lifestyle while preparing majors for careers in the teaching, exercise and therapy professions.

The Kinesiology program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and National Association for Sports and Physical Education (NASPE).

Nursing

The Department of Nursing at West Chester University provides the highest quality undergraduate and graduate education to diverse student populations ultimately preparing students to become leaders within the nursing profession. The baccalaureate program prepares graduates for entry into nursing practice. The master's program prepares graduates for advanced practice in adult health/gerontology or nursing education. Nutrition

Dietetics is the scientific study of food intake and preparation with the practical application of diet in relation to health and disease. The dietetics profession affords a professional the opportunity to combine an interest in food, nutrition, fitness, health, and management with meeting the needs of individuals or groups in wellness, illness and physical performance.

The BS in Nutrition and Dietetics major is a four-year, undergraduate degree which combines a strong foundation in the biological and chemical sciences with advanced dietetic course work.

Sports Medicine

The Department of Sports Medicine, within the College of Health Sciences, has as its primary role the preparation of students for careers in athletic training and related health care fields. Fundamental to such a career is successful completion of the certification examination given by the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC). The Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in the Department of Sports Medicine provides all the prerequisites for the BOC exam.

The Sports Medicine program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
