Biography

Dr. Chiwoneso Tinago completed her PhD in Public Health with an emphasis on Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior from the University of South Carolina. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate Public Health courses in the Department of Health. Dr. Tinago has experience developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating health promotion and education programs in the United States and southeast Africa through emic and community-based participatory methods. Dr. Tinago chairs the Global Health Research Team and the Global Initiatives Committee in the College of Health Sciences and is currently an active member of the American Public Health Association (APHA), the Delta Omega Honor Society in Public Health, the American Society for Nutrition (ASN), and the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
