Employee Benefits
West Chester University is part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) and most benefits are standard across the universities within the system. Employee benefits are determined by many factors including employment status, hours worked, and employee group. Please contact the benefits department if you are unsure of your employee group.

Life Events and Benefits
Major life events – such as birth or adoption of a child, marriage, or divorce – allow
you to make changes to your health care plans and add or drop eligible dependents
from coverage.
Some health care plan changes are time sensitive so report life events to the Benefits
Department as soon as possible, but no later than 60 days following the date of the
event. Documentation may be required.
For more information, view the PASSHE Life Events website or contact benefits@wcupa.edu.
Life events can be a time of adjustment and change. The State Employee Assistance Plan (SEAP) is a resource available to support WCU employees and their families. Services include
counseling, financial resources, and legal services. SEAP is available 24/7 by calling
1-800-692-7459.
