Biography
As a professional nurse, I spent more than eight years in the Emergency Department frequently working as the primary preceptor for many new-to-practice nurses and witnessing firsthand the prevalence and consequences of workplace violence and the educational vulnerabilities of new nurses. My leadership role in unit education within the ED led to uncovering my passion for simulation education. My clinical and educational experiences inspired my PhD and future research goals which focus on contributing to the practice, conditions, and education of the nursing profession.
