5 “Need to Knows” about Sport Clubs
- The Involvement Fair is a great way to join a sport club and learn more. The fair occurs on the first Wednesday in September in the Academic Quad.
- Sport Clubs charge dues for participation. Financial commitments vary by club. Some sports that are offered have a higher cost in dues because of practice locations, competitiveness, and travel commitment.
- Most of our sport clubs practice twice per week and have competitions on the weekends. Of course this commitment depends on the sport and which season they play in, where they practice (on/off campus), and competitiveness.
- There are some sport clubs that host tryouts. To find out if there are tryouts for a specific sport club, please contact the executive board of that specific sport club. Their information can be found on the Campus Recreation website.
- There are great leadership opportunities that sport clubs offer. Each club has their own elected executive board that consists of student members. The executive board is made up of a president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. Each position has their own responsibilities that can help them in their academics and future careers.
