Bio
Dr. Brent Ruswick studies the history of medicine and science and their influence in culture and politics. His writing and teaching focuses on the history of disability, eugenics, poverty, public health, nuclear weapons, and history education. He is the author of one book, Almost Worthy: The Poor, Paupers, and the Science of Charity in America with a forthcoming second book on poverty, an edited anthology called The Cultural History of Poverty in the Age of Empire. Ruswick has won numerous awards for his teaching, advising, research, and work in equity and inclusion.
