Bio

Dr. Hadih Deedat holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in Sociology from the University of Ghana, Legon-Accra, Ghana. He also holds two master’s degrees: Master of Public Health (MPH) from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Master of Social Work (MSW) from Widener University, Chester, Pennsylvania. Deedat continued his education at Widener University where he earned his doctoral degree in Social Work.

Deedat has been a faculty of the Undergraduate Social Work faculty at West Chester University since 2019. He teaches courses across the BSW curriculum, with child welfare as one of his areas of expertise. Before joining WCU, Deedat was a full-time clinical screener and family crisis therapist with the State of Delaware Office of Evidence-Based Practice between 2012 and 2019. Deedat has extensive years of experience in child welfare practice and public health promotion. He has deep-seated research interests in child welfare, immigrant welfare, evidence-based social work practice, and interdisciplinary approaches in public health and social work.
