An Annual Tradition: Ring in the Season at West Chester University’s 98th Annual Holiday Concert
West Chester University invites the surrounding community to ring in the holidays with a festive celebration of music at the 98th Annual Holiday Concert. The concert is on Saturday, December 7 at 3 p.m. in the 1200-seat Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, Philips Memorial Building, 700 S. High Street, West Chester. Holiday Concerts Tickets are $12 or call 610.436.2266.
A time-honored tradition for now 98 years, the Holiday Concert features choral, orchestral and jazz ensembles from the esteemed Wells School of Music in a 90-minute concert of holiday favorites, as well as selections that are inspired by the Season. For some, the highlight of the concert is hearing the 2019 Honors soloist sing the solemn and beautiful “O Holy Night”.
The Holiday Concert is just one of over 300 programs presented annually by the Wells School of Music. Ryan Kelly, an Associate Professor at the Wells School of Music, and the Associate Director of Choral Activities, directs the program, alongside multiple conductors.
Kelly says, “We invite everyone to join us on West Chester’s campus, and to make this jubilant and family-friendly concert a part of your holiday tradition.”
Limited parking is available across and along the street just outside the Philips Memorial Building. Parking is also available in West Chester’s M Lot, just a short walk away. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly encouraged. To ease box office congestion, day-of sales are cash only.
