Athletic Training Alumna Julie Frymyer Working the Super Bowl

Julie Frymyer West Chester UniversityWhen the Kansas City Chiefs take the field Sunday for Super Bowl LIV, WCU alumna Julie Frymyer, MS, ATC, DPT, will be right alongside the players as one of their athletic trainers. She is making history alongside her team colleague, Tiffany Morton, MS, ATC, and Laura A. McCabe, LAT, ATC with the San Francisco 49ers as the first time three female athletic trainers (ATs) will provide medical care during a Super Bowl.

“I attribute a lot of my success from the foundational skillset West Chester instilled in me,” Frymyer said in a text to Scott Heinerichs, EdD, ATC, Dean of WCU’s College of Health Sciences and professor of Sports Medicine. “And a lot of that was because of you and the time you took to develop my skillset and mentor me.”

Watch Frymyer and her colleague Morton, also with the Chiefs, talk about how they arrived at their current positions.
