The WCU Symphony Orchestra Performs FREE Public Concert on Friday, October 1
West Chester University’s esteemed Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Joseph
Caminiti, will welcome the public back to the concert hall with a performance on Friday,
October 1 at 8:15 p.m. in the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, 700 S. High Street,
West Chester. The concert is FREE and open to the public. It is also available to be viewed by Livestream.
The program includes Joan Tower’s vibrant Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman, followed by Manuel de Falla’s scintillating Three Cornered Hat, Suite No. 2. The evening ends with Beethoven’s celebrated and jubilant Symphony No. 1.
The 70-member student ensemble performs 5 - 6 concerts per year, both on and off campus. They perform standard symphonic repertoire as well as new compositions. Remaining concerts in the 2021-22 Season are on November 20 at 7:30 p.m., February 20 at 7 p.m., February 26 at 7:30 p.m., April 24 at 3 p.m., and May 5 at 5:30 p.m.
All faculty, staff, students, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth when indoors.
