WCU to Hold ‘Spooktacular’ Family-Friendly Halloween Fun for the Community
150 Spooky Stories Halloween Celebration
‘Spooktacular’ family-friendly tours, tales, and lots of tricks & treats will be featured
on West Chester University’s campus for members of the community and their families
on Saturday, October 30, 4-6 p.m., free of charge. Conjured for the entire family,
the University’s 150 Spooky Stories Halloween Celebration will provide just the right amount of spirited fun for G to PG-13 audiences. Bewitching
activities will be held on the University’s campus rain or shine and will be accessed
via the Academic Quad, which is bound by South High Street, University Avenue, South
New Street, and West Rosedale Avenue (campus map:
wcupa.edu/campusMap/).
As part of all the hocus pocus, the Academic Quad will be transformed by pumpkin decorating; trick or treat stations; frightfully fun lawn games; the Halloween sounds of the Zombie-Monster Marching Band, High Street Harmony A Capella, and WCUR-FM; as well as a performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s “Time Warp” by members of the WCU Theatre.
For all who dare, the ghouls and goblins of the WCU Theatre will also hold small guided tours in the basement of Recitation Hall, located at 35 W. Rosedale Avenue in West Chester, and Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, located at 700 South High Street in West Chester --- the University’s oldest buildings. The Downingtown Area Paranormal Investigators will even do a reading and reveal! ADA accessible and age-appropriate tours will be available.
