Owner and Creative Director of Headcase Design Paul Kepple is an award-winning designer and illustrator. HEADCASE DESIGN: EXAMINED is a chronological retrospective of work from Kepple’s 20-year illustrious career creating publishing materials for niche clientele and big entertainment brands like Netflix, HBO, Amazon and Broadway shows, including Hamilton.

West Chester University Art + Design faculty members Karen Watkins, David Jones, Jeremy Holmes, and Scotty Reifsnyder were all students of Kepple’s during their time at Tyler School of Art.

Reifsnyder says, “Many of us in the Department of Art + Design at West Chester University have an interesting connection to Paul Kepple and his legacy. I worked at Headcase Design for nearly four years and Kepple was also one of my instructors at Tyler School of Art. I personally assisted him on books for the legendary rapper Eminem and the hit Broadway show Spring Awakening, to name a few. The Department of Art + Design is thrilled to share the work of Paul Kepple with the students and faculty at West Chester University, as well as with the community-at-large.”

Knauer Gallery is open for public viewings Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

All faculty, staff, students, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth when indoors. Face masks may be worn when outdoors, but it is not an obligation of this policy notice. Mask and COVID-19 safety measures at West Chester University will continue to be updated here.
