WCU’s Wells School of Music Presents Wind Ensemble & Wind Symphony
The Wells School of Music's Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony combine for one glorious concert on Sunday, September 24 at 3 p.m. in the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, Philips Memorial Building, 700 S. High Street, West Chester. The concert is FREE and open to the public and can also be livestreamed here. In the season-opening concert, the Wind Symphony presents Sergei Prokofiev’s classic March, Op. 99, Kelijah Dunton’s stirring Master of Fate, and Michael Daugherty’s Niagara Falls. Two rarely heard Grainger works – the Duke of Marlborough Fanfare and Faeroe Island Dance open the Wind Ensemble’s portion of the program followed by Erika Svanoe’s colorful Steampunk Suite. In celebration of its 100th birthday, the concert concludes with Edwin Franco Goldman’s On the Mall march.
