NEW West Chester University Students To Move-In August 21-22!
NEW West Chester University President Will Make Students & Families Feel Extra Golden
Unloading and hauling everything needed for college life, first-year students will arrive and unpack lots of “home-away-from-home essentials”
as they move into their West Chester University North Campus residence halls August
21 & August 22, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:10 p.m. Groups of students will check-in by residence hall floor, receive their Ram Cards,
and move into their new homes via pre-selected timeslots. WCU returning students,
alumni, staff, and members of the president’s senior leadership team will be on-hand
to help haul gear and wield stuffed moving carts! On August 22, from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. & 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., new WCU President Laurie Bernotsky will commandeer a purple and gold golf cart to
greet members of the Class of 2028 and their families in campus parking lots and along
walkways. WCU’s North Campus is bound by South High Street, Sharpless Street, South New Street,
and West Rosedale Avenue (campus map: https://www.wcupa.edu/campusMap/). Returning sophomores, juniors, and seniors will move into their North Campus residence
halls August 24 -25. The first day of in-person classes for all students will be August
26.
Upon new students’ arrival, a “RAMTASTIC” Welcome Week of activities will be held as they settle into their new digs and get ready to study hard for the academic year ahead. A series of weeklong activities will help students get to know their University. Here are a few highlights:
- Snuggly Therapy Goats & Free Tote Bags
August 22, 3 – 5 PM (LOCATION: Academic Quad)
The Office of New Student Programs & The Counseling Center will bring therapy goats to campus for students to interact, pet, and take photos with! Free tote bags will be given!
- RAM RALLY
August 22, 9 – 10:30 PM (LOCATION: Academic Quad)
An exciting tradition that welcomes our newest Golden Rams, RAM RALLY features the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band, the Cheerleading Team, and our beloved mascot, Rammy, in a fun-filled evening! New WCU students get decked-out in purple and gold gear, join in the fun, and grab plenty of free Ram Swag!
- WCU First-Year Students Will Create a Human Formation of “2028” --- Their Class Year!
August 25, 4 – 5:30 PM (LOCATION: Academic Quad)
Students will gather on the Academic Quad with Rammy the mascot, WCU cheerleaders, WCU President Laurie Bernotsky, and other members of the WCU community to enjoy music, fun, free food, and free Ram swag.
West Chester University has experienced an extended period of enrollment stability and is intentionally working to maintain a total enrollment not to exceed our Fall 2021 enrollment. This year, we anticipate welcoming slightly more than 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Official Fall 2024 enrollment numbers will be available on the 15th day of class.
