WCU Honors Martin Luther King, Jr., with Multiple Events
West Chester University will host special events across several days honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., whose federal holiday is January 20 this year. All campus MLK events are open to all students, faculty, staff, and the public.
The annual MLK Awards Celebration and reception, at which WCU alumni who exemplify Dr. King’s legacy are recognized with Drum Major for Justice Awards, will take place Friday, January 24, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Sykes Ballrooms. This program has been organized and hosted for more than 30 years by the Society of WCU, formerly WCU’s Frederick Douglass Society.
