Registration for West Chester University’s Visual Arts Camp Opens on Feb. 21! 
Registration for West Chester University’s Visual Arts Summer Camp will open on February 21, 2025. From WCU’s Dept. Of Art + Design comes a two-week art adventure for students ages 7 – 15. Camp dates and hours are July 14 – 25, 2025, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the state-of-the-art E.O. Bull Center, 2 E. Rosedale Avenue, West Chester, PA. Spots are limited so patrons are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
Campers will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, exposure, and knowledge
to further explore and enhance their art skills and interests through a variety of
activities such as workshops with West Chester University Art + Design faculty and
collaborating and learning with peers. There is a culminating gallery showcase in
the John H. Baker Gallery on Friday, July 18th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The gallery
will feature selected artwork from campers for families to see and celebrate their
young artists’ achievements.

More than Magma: Dr. Terry Plank Delivers Second Annual Mather Scholar Lecture
Volcanoes are responsible for building more than 80 percent of the Earth's surface, and a subject of fascination and research for Dr. Terry Plank, who has studied them in Alaska, Italy, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Iceland, and at sea. She will deliver West Chester University's Second Annual Mather Scholar Lecture on Wednesday, March 26, at 6 p.m. in the Sciences & Engineering Center and The Commons (SECC) Room 108. The program is free and open to the public.

Ingenuity and Savvy: WCU Celebrates William Chester Ruth, African American Inventor and Businessman
On Tuesday, March 25, West Chester University will honor the achievements and history of William Chester Ruth (1882-1971), an African American inventor, entrepreneur, and minister from Chester County who built and sold his patented farm equipment and other machinery throughout the United States.
