The Pennsylvania Department of Aging was joined by students and faculty members from West Chester University and Widener University to announce the expansion of the department’s Intergenerational University Connections program. The program has offered university students an experience to learn, engage and collaborate with older adults by completing hands-on projects and other assignments. As of 2021, West Chester University, Widener University, and Penn State Harrisburg, have joined the program for the fall semester. The program was initially piloted at Slippery Rock University, and now West Chester University is the second school within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) to take part in the program.
