Kim Doan

After 8 years of teaching high school special education in Los Angeles Unified School District, Dr. Doan decided to return to school full time to earn her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Virginia, a Research 1 school. During her years in Virginia, she taught English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at the elementary level for 2 years, supervised student teachers for Uva, and taught classes in the Linguistics dept. In addition to teaching, she has a number of presentations at the national and international levels, and various publications to her credit. Dr. Doan served as advisor to WCU Best Buddies for 10 years and served as a Supervisor of Uwchlan Township for 3 years. She also serves on the Govenor's Advisory Council for People with Disabilities, helps the PA Department of Education review special education and gifted programs in various school districts, and reviews test items for the PSSA and Keystone exams to remove subconscious testing bias.
