SEARCH TIMELINE

West Chester University is committed to casting a wide net to attract, hire, and retain, diverse and qualified candidates, conducting fair and equitable searches, and creating a positive experience for both our search committees and our candidates

As part of this commitment, we use search committees made up of WCU subject matter experts and campus partners to select and hire the most qualified candidates. Search committees and Human Resources collaborate to create up-to-date and accurate job postings to attract candidates. The committee then reviews every application using quantifiable and job-related qualifications to find the strongest candidates. WCU does not use word recognition or AI technology to review materials. We rely on our experts to choose the best candidates

The search committee partners with Human Resources to create interview questions unique to each position and conducts interviews as a group to gather diverse perspectives for the selection of candidates.

Human Resources supports the committee and approves each step of the process to ensure a fair and equitable search through the job offer. Once an offer is made, our community partners begin the onboarding process to welcome our new employees.

Because of West Chester University’s commitment to the hiring process, it can take 2 to 4 months to fill a position.
