IS&T Official Notice 20201119-275

This email was sent to: Employees

Attention Mac Users,

Please be advised that last week Apple announced a new Operating System upgrade for Mac users. This upgrade, referred to as "Big Sur" includes several security upgrades which conflict with some of the software we use on campus, most notably Sophos and the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client. While we work with Sophos, Cisco, and other software vendors to resolve software incompatibility, we ask that you delay or refrain from updating your Mac Operating System for at least 45-60 days. Over the next two months, software vendors will release updates to their products that IS&T can make available so that there is no disruption of productivity.

If you have already upgraded to Big Sur and are experiencing software incompatibility issues, or have any questions please contact the Help Desk through ServiceNow at https://www.wcupa.edu/servicenow or 610-436-3350.
