October is Cybersecurity Month, a global effort to help everyone stay safe and protected when using technology whenever and however they connect. West Chester University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is once again participating in the Cybersecurity Awareness Month program run by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Cyberscecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to create awareness about cybersecurity. This year's theme is Do your Part. #BeCyberSmart. Our goal is to help you make the most of today's technology, safely and securely.
Play hard to get with strangers
Cyber criminals use phishing tactics hoping to fool their victims. If you are unsure who an email is from (even if the details appear accurate) or if the email looks "phishy" do not respond and do not click on any links or attachments found in that email. When available use the "report Phish" or "Report" option to help your organization or email provider block other suspicious emails before the arrive in your inbox.
