Course Objectives

  • To improve familiarity with the statistical programming language R.
  • To understand a variety of data mining techniques.
  • To develop the tools necessary to analyze a wide variety of datasets.

Course Topics

The purpose of this course is to give an introduction to many of the data mining techniques that are used to analyze a wide array of datasets. These include principal components analysis, clustering, classification, and ensemble approaches.  We will be applying these methods using the statistical programming language R.
