As part of our strategic plan, WCU recognizes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are integral to our mission of excellence.  Faculty and staff recruitment is one of the most important areas in which we can actively achieve this goal.  In support of this priority, WCU commits itself to taking affirmative steps to encourage applications from underutilized groups through targeted outreach or “active recruitment” efforts.  The Marketing & Diversity Recruitment Plan is required for all positions posted externally to WCU.  The goal is to design a recruitment strategy that casts the widest net possible and works to build an adequate pool of qualified and diverse candidates.

All search committees must prepare and submit the information below via email to the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) at DIVERSERECRUITMENT@wcupa.edu  for approval, if advertising outside of WCU, before a position can be posted.  Once approved by ODEI, the plan will be reviewed by HR and a plan to execute must be implemented.

While the plan must specific and multi-faceted, this is a fluid document and should be revised/updated as changes are made.  For faculty positions, please upload copies of all advertisements along with implementation dates to NeoGov.  These are required as part of visa sponsorship and are often requested for investigations.  All paid advertisements placed by HR are charged to the Hiring Department cost center. HR will forward invoices for payment.
