Rammy Illustration Guidelines
Guidelines for the Use of WCU Rammy Illustrations
Rammy is the official mascot for WCU and is an additional retail and identifying mark for the University. Rammy appeals primarily to prospect and undergraduate student audiences.
Academic and administrative units may use the official Rammy illustrations to convey Ram pride and to help attract attention to advertisements, publications, announcements, and so forth. There are 12 basic versions of the Rammy illustration which feature Rammy in multiple poses that accommodate numerous uses. The set includes several with Rammy holding a blank, customizable sign board that can be “filled in” by WCU departments and offices providing a semi-custom illustration. Graphics & Printing can insert the customized text as part of a larger work order or as an individual work order for just the graphic alone. There are also a number of previously modified custom illustrations that may be suitable for unique purposes.

Guidelines to remember about the use of Rammy’s likeness:
- Do not change the color, add props, crop, or modify Rammy in any way.
- Do not incorporate Rammy into another graphic or combine Rammy with other logos, images, etc.
- Do not create a lockup with Rammy and other WCU marks or logos.
- Do not attempt to create your own Rammy image.
Customizing Rammy Illustrations
In some cases, the artists in Graphics & Printing may customize Rammy for use in a unique campaign.
As a rule, these modifications are limited to official University Marketing endeavors directed by the Marketing Department, but may also include significant spirit-related events such as Banana Day, Homecoming, Ramboree, etc. Requests for modifications of the primary Rammy illustrations for such events or initiatives must be approved by University Communications. (Submitting a request through Graphics & Printing is sufficient for making this request.)
