Frequently Asked Questions

What type of events can be held at Tanglewood?

Tanglewood can be reserved for receptions, donor events, and special occasions. It is not intended to be a meeting space.

Who can reserve Tanglewood?

Tanglewood is available for use exclusively by the President’s Office, the WCU Foundation, Vice Presidents, and Deans (in order of priority).

How do I request to reserve Tanglewood for an event?

Eligible parties must fill out a request form and submit it to Tanglewood@wcupa.edu.  Once all relevant signatures have been received, the requestor will receive an email notifying them their request has been approved.

What am I responsible for if my request is approved?

The event organizer is responsible for arranging their catering and set-up needs, including linens and tables, through Aramark’s New Street Catering, which will be billed to their cost center. Requests to use an outside caterer must be made to New Street.  For floral arrangements, please consult the list of approved vendors available by contacting Tanglewood@wcupa.edu. Requests for live music should be directed to the Wells School of Music.

What is the timeline for requesting to use Tanglewood?

Requests must be made at least a month in advance and go through a signature process as outlined in the request form. This can take up to a week.  Once approved, you will receive an email from Tanglewood@wcupa.edu.
