West Chester Joins AARP’s Age-Friendly Community
The AARP Network of Age Friendly Communities was launched in April of 2012. It operates in partnership with the World Health Organization’s Age Friendly Cities and Communities Program. West Chester was the 86th Community around the nation to join this important AARP network. Designated AARP Livable Communities help support the efforts of towns, cities, and communities to become great places for people of all backgrounds and ages to grow and prosper. West Chester’s acceptance as a member was based on it 3-year membership in the World Health Organization’s age friendly cities and communities’ consortium.
