About the Book

This e-textbook is an interactive resource that provides students with advocacy skills, tools, vital history and knowledge, and practical examples of application related to social policy. The text uses both a strength-based and social justice anti-oppressive framework. This e-textbook begins with fundamental concepts such as social policy development, social and economic inequality, and the government’s role in social policy. Within the text, readers will find highlights of social movements, skills utilized during those movements to advance social justice,  and unsung heroes of those movements. This text has a beginning, but the end is yet unwritten. Readers will find this text to be a student focused, engaging, and a user-friendly resource. 

Usage

Please note that this book is available for use by any West Chester University (WCU) faculty member or student, but should not be distributed to anyone outside of WCU.
